The Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology (MCDB) graduate program offers students varied pathways to build a robust understanding of contemporary biological sciences while engaging in groundbreaking research. Our department boasts more than 30 tenured or tenure-track faculty members and maintains a vibrant research initiative focused on unraveling life's molecular mechanisms through integrated approaches in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology, and molecular biology. Beyond traditional coursework, we facilitate learning through multiple interactive platforms including guest researcher seminars, casual Friday afternoon discussions, weekly cross-group meetings, and specialized journal clubs exploring genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, and cellular processes.
Students with bachelor's degrees in any of the biological, biochemical or physical sciences are encouraged to apply. Background necessary for the program includes the equivalent of undergraduate courses in cell biology, developmental biology, genetics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, chemical thermodynamics, differential and integral calculus and general physics.
All international applicants are required to meet a minimum standard of English proficiency.
Paper-Based TOEFL - 600
Internet Based TOEFL - 100
