The Molecular Biology, Cell Biology & Biochemistry (MCBB) PhD program aims to establish a strong foundation in molecular biosciences through coursework and seminars while cultivating advanced research capabilities. This interdisciplinary program draws faculty expertise from multiple departments (Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemistry, Health Sciences) and offers diverse biological perspectives. Its core mission is to equip graduates for careers in academia, research organizations, biotechnology/pharmaceutical industries, or government policy roles. Candidates with backgrounds in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related fields are encouraged to apply.
Program Objectives
Attain comprehensive knowledge across at least two of three core areas: 1) molecular biology, 2) cell biology, and 3) biochemistry, supplemented by computational skills.
Develop specialized research competence and produce original contributions advancing molecular bioscience.
Adhere to ethical standards in scientific practice.
Acquire teaching skills to advance biological sciences education.
