Epidemiology examines how diseases, disabilities, and injuries spread and what causes them in human populations. The UC MPH Epidemiology program teaches students to design population and clinical studies, conduct disease surveillance, address ethical considerations in human research, evaluate risks, communicate findings, and perform fundamental biostatistical analyses. Graduates are equipped for roles like project leads, research coordinators, or health specialists in organizations dealing with public health evaluation, population health research, or clinical trials across government agencies, universities, and private sector companies.
