The MDiv/MPH and MTS/MPH programs equip students to apply religious and theological knowledge in public health careers. These joint degrees, offered with Emory's Rollins School of Public Health, can be finished in four or three years - saving one year compared to pursuing the degrees individually. Applicants must gain admission to both Candler and Rollins, as each school has its own application process.
MDiv/MPH candidates generally complete their first year at Candler, second year at Rollins, and final two years back at Candler. While tuition covers six semesters at Candler and two at Rollins, students may enroll in courses at either institution.
For MTS/MPH students, the typical path involves year one at Candler, year two at Rollins, and year three returning to Candler. The program requires four semesters of Candler tuition and two at Rollins, with flexibility to take classes at both schools.
All post-secondary education will include a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, as well as post-baccalaureate degrees and other coursework not undertaken for a degree.
Applicants whose native language is not English must submit official scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) as part of the application process. The minimum score is 600 (Paper-Based Total), or 250 (Computer-Based Test), or 95 (Internet-Based Total) with a minimum score of 21 or higher in each of the four sub-areas.
