The Master of Music programs include both performance components (private lessons, board exams, recitals, and ensemble work) and academic coursework covering music theory, history, graduate-level research and writing, plus elective music studies. Classical Guitar majors must complete two specialized courses: Classical Guitar Repertoire Seminar and Performance Practicum.
As part of the University of Cincinnati, a leading research university with over 40,000 students, CCM benefits from this dynamic environment. This integration shapes CCM's distinctive mission: to fully prepare artists and scholars for global careers in the performing arts.
CCM alumni excel across all areas of performance and entertainment. They perform as soloists, participate in chamber groups, and hold positions in prestigious ensembles worldwide, including symphony orchestras, opera companies, military bands, jazz groups, and beyond. Many graduates establish private teaching studios or pursue further advanced degrees.
