The Master of Arts in Educational Studies is an interdisciplinary graduate program aimed at deepening students' knowledge of educational principles, learning processes, human development, and research methods for driving educational and societal transformation. This program enables participants to specialize in a key educational field, helping them develop expertise in their chosen area and strengthen their ability to champion educational advancement.

Educational Psychology and Child Development: Participants will acquire specialized knowledge in developmental learning sciences (including human learning processes, cognitive psychology, and developmental studies) along with comprehensive understanding of child development research.

Qualification Requirements

Transcripts: Official transcripts documenting completion of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university.
GPA: A preferred minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 [on a 4.0 scale]. Note: uGPA's below 3.0 require a waiver from the Graduate School.
TOEFL: The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or successful completion of ELS Level 112, is required of all applicants whose native language is not English. A minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper test), 213 (computer--based test), or 79--80 (internet--based test), or a minimum score on the Test of Written English (TWE) of 4.5, or a minimum score of 50 on the Test of Spoken English.
Letters of Recommendation: Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation if applying for fall of 2021 or later. Applicants applying for summer of 2021 are required to submit three letters of recommendation.
Goal Statement: A goal statement describing academic credentials and professional experiences relevant to a degree in Educational Studies, interests and experiences that match expertise available among Educational Studies faculty, and a commitment to education, and diversity.
GRE: This exam is optional.
