Students pursuing art history at UC's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) can engage in museum internships locally, learn foreign languages, and choose from diverse liberal arts courses. The program cultivates research and writing abilities essential for analyzing and discussing art and design. The curriculum covers multiple disciplines, with specialized focus on modern/contemporary art, American art, East Asian art, African-American art, and museum studies. Ancient art and architecture classes are conducted by UC Classics Department faculty, while DAAP's other programs provide supplementary courses on design and architectural history.
