The Statistics Department provides a dynamic, newly updated Ph.D. program that engages students in pioneering cross-disciplinary research across diverse fields. Statistical methods now form a fundamental part of investigations in biological, physical, and social sciences, as well as in established computer science areas like artificial intelligence and machine learning. With the exponential growth of data from scientific measurements and digital collection methods, creating advanced statistical analysis and predictive techniques has never been more crucial. Our graduate curriculum equips students to tackle these challenges through comprehensive education in scientific computing, along with statistical theory, methods, and practical implementations.
Applicants to our graduate and professional programs are expected to be enrolled in or to have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university. Applicants from a three-year bachelor’s program will be given due consideration. Because all of our programs feature competitive admission, no particular academic degree or background will guarantee admission to one of our graduate divisions.
