The Econometrics and Statistics PhD program at Chicago Booth integrates economic theory, advanced mathematics, and computational methods to solve complex business challenges. As one of the select few programs offering this specialization, our PhD in Econometrics and Statistics equips students with rigorous analytical skills to extract insights from data across diverse applications like predictive modeling, demand-cost analysis, algorithmic model development, large-scale data processing, and theoretical hypothesis testing. Tailored for aspiring researchers in business-oriented statistical methodologies, the curriculum also offers cross-disciplinary perspectives applicable to finance, marketing, and economic research domains.
Applicants to our graduate and professional programs are expected to be enrolled in or to have completed a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an accredited college or university. Applicants from a three-year bachelor’s program will be given due consideration. Because all of our programs feature competitive admission, no particular academic degree or background will guarantee admission to one of our graduate divisions.
