This cross-disciplinary program utilizes faculty and courses from multiple UChicago departments including Anthropology, Art History, East Asian Languages & Civilizations, English Language & Literature, Germanic Studies, Music, Romance Languages & Literatures, Slavic Languages & Literatures, and South Asian Languages & Civilizations. The curriculum offers a comprehensive, structured approach enabling undergraduates to examine film and media through diverse historical, critical, and theoretical lenses. The Film Studies Center at UChicago supplies screening facilities, media collections, and research materials for academic work. Campus screenings and local cultural venues further enrich the program. The Classical Studies B.A. program enables students to investigate Greek and Roman civilizations through multiple approaches, preparing them for careers demanding strong analytical and writing skills, such as education, research, law, publishing, and humanities fields. Students can select from three specialized tracks: (1) The Language and Literature Track integrates Greek/Latin textual study with broader subjects like art, archaeology, history, philosophy, religion, and science. (2) The Language Intensive Track prioritizes linguistic proficiency for extensive original text reading, ideal for aspiring classics graduate students. (3) The Greek and Roman Cultures Track focuses on art, archaeology, history, material culture, and translated texts.

Applicants are required to have score of 100 or higher on the Internet-Based TOEFL or 600 or higher on the Paper-Based TOEFL. Minimum required scores on the IELTS are an overall score of 7.0, with subs cores of 7.0 each. The minimum acceptable score on the PTE is 70
