The Broadcast Studies Program offers hands-on learning experiences in video, television, and audio production, including editing, broadcasting, directing, and camera operation. Students develop real-world skills by sharing community stories through GUTV programming and podcast creation in audio classes. Numerous broadcasting students complete internships at Spokane network affiliates or local stations in their home regions. As a Broadcast and Electronic Media Studies major, students will: Master the technical abilities needed to create digital content under tight deadlines. Gain expertise in explaining broadcast media's historical evolution. Learn media law boundaries, ethical journalism principles, and practice reporting that exceeds industry norms. Discover how digital media can positively impact society and demonstrate this understanding through their work.
As an applicant for admission, you are expected to graduate from an accredited high school with a college preparatory curriculum.
