The Master of Science in Health Promotion and Behavioral Science aims to develop professionals skilled at applying research findings to real-world settings to foster healthier living and environments. Graduates will gain expertise in delivering and managing programs that lower chronic disease risks and mitigate their effects on people and populations. Enhancing health outcomes is vital as it helps prevent 1) early mortality and disability with high societal costs; 2) expensive medical care expenses for both finances and human wellbeing; and 3) economic strains on individuals, families, businesses, and society from reduced work efficiency, income loss, and public healthcare expenditures. This in-person, full-time program provides both thesis and non-thesis tracks. Non-thesis students fulfill 30 credits through 10 mandatory courses across three terms (fall, spring, summer). Thesis candidates complete 36 credits, including 10 core courses plus six thesis credits, distributed over five semesters (fall, spring, summer, fall, and spring).
