The Master of Public Health (MPH) program equips students with comprehensive academic training, hands-on practice, and interdisciplinary coursework to tackle modern public health issues. Starting in the 2020-2021 academic year, the MPH curriculum will feature six foundational courses taken collectively by all first-year students. Additionally, learners will complete specialized courses aligned with their chosen focus areas. The core curriculum emphasizes ethical considerations, health equity, global and community perspectives, effective communication, systems analysis, leadership development, teamwork, and the continuous cycle of translating research into practice.
The One Health specialization within the MPH program prepares graduates to examine the interconnected health of humans, animals, and ecosystems. This track covers diverse subjects such as infectious diseases crossing species, veterinary medicine parallels, environmental health indicators, occupational health for animal workers, food security, and the psychological benefits of human-animal relationships. The One Health MPH is a two-year program requiring both a practical fieldwork component and a research-based thesis as final degree requirements.
