The Master of Arts in Exceptional Student Education K-12 program caters to individuals without an education background or certified teachers seeking additional qualifications.

Upon finishing the degree, students qualify for certification in exceptional student education (ESE) after passing Florida's required exams. The program also grants Reading and ESOL endorsements upon completion. This state-approved teacher preparation program adheres to Florida Statutes and State Board of Education Rule 6A-5.066. Note that degree requirements may adjust due to state regulations. Participants should regularly consult their advisor to stay updated on any modifications resulting from new state policies.

Qualification Requirements

All applicants for graduate study at the University of Central Florida must hold a U.S. bachelor’s degree, or its equivalent, from a regionally accredited or governmentally recognized institution of higher learning. This is the minimum requirement for admission to a graduate program at UCF. International students applying to programs requiring an outside Course-by-Course Evaluation with GPA calculation must submit a course-by-course evaluation of their official transcripts from a credential evaluation service recommended by UCF. This course-by-course evaluation must show a GPA that is equivalent to a 3.0 from an earned degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree. Minimum UCF Requirement for TOEFL/IELTS TOEFL iBT score of 80 IELTS band score of 6.5
