The Gevirtz Graduate School of Education's (GGSE) Department of Education provides MA and PhD programs designed to train future researchers, educational leaders, teacher educators, and scholar practitioners for careers in universities, schools, community organizations, and private industry. Our curriculum focuses on three key areas: (1) Human Development, Culture, and Language, (2) Teacher Education, Learning, and Teaching, and (3) Research Methods, Policy, and Program Evaluation. Students can enhance their studies with optional interdisciplinary doctoral concentrations in fields like Applied Linguistics, Black Studies, Cognitive Science, Environmental Studies, Feminist Studies, Global Studies, Information Technology, Social Interaction, Quantitative Social Sciences, and Writing Studies. Important note: The Department doesn't offer K-12 teacher training or credentials; those interested in teaching should apply to our Teacher Education Program. Our faculty are committed to developing tomorrow's education scholars, leaders, and innovators while embracing and nurturing each student's unique background and abilities.
