The CACREP-accredited Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialization within the Counselor Education MA program equips students for professional licensure and careers in diverse settings including agencies and private practices.

Embracing a hands-on learning philosophy, the program combines academic coursework with practical training at the UCF Community Counseling and Research Center and community-based internships. This center functions as the program's primary training and research facility, where graduate students offer therapeutic services to clients of all ages through individual, couples, and family counseling sessions. Annually, the CCRC provides support to over 1400 clients throughout central Florida.

Qualification Requirements

All applicants for graduate study at the University of Central Florida must hold a U.S. bachelor's degree, or its equivalent, from a regionally accredited or governmentally recognized institution of higher learning. This is the minimum requirement for admission to a graduate program at UCF. International students applying to programs requiring an outside Course-by-Course Evaluation with GPA calculation must submit a course-by-course evaluation of their official transcripts from a credential evaluation service recommended by UCF. This course-by-course evaluation must show a GPA that is equivalent to a 3.0 from an earned degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree.
