The Master of Arts in Career and Workforce Education equips students for leadership and administrative roles in career and technical education (CTE), workforce development, talent management, and corporate training programs. This degree targets professionals aspiring to become managers, coordinators, directors, curriculum developers, deans, or lead instructors in career-focused education across multiple sectors, including: secondary and higher education institutions (technical schools, community colleges, universities), vocational rehabilitation centers, corporate training departments, military education programs, and professional associations.
The program's six foundational Career Education Core courses offer comprehensive examination of the field's historical development and future directions. These classes establish essential knowledge in career and technical/workforce education principles. By completing 18 credit hours in career education graduate courses plus 18 credit hours in a specialized discipline, graduates achieve dual expertise - becoming authorities in both career/technical education and their chosen specialization area.
