The Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing program equips students for careers as nursing educators, pioneers in implementing cutting-edge technologies for nursing instruction and patient care, top-level administrators in healthcare organizations, and researchers advancing nursing science through scholarly investigation.
This PhD curriculum develops nurse scholars with expertise in theoretical frameworks, research methodologies, and investigative approaches specific to nursing. Students gain the ability to enhance both nursing-specific and cross-disciplinary healthcare knowledge through principled, well-founded conceptual and methodological approaches.

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida.
An essay of no more than 500 words addressing goals for doctoral study to knowledge development for Nursing.
A personal interview.
Research interests that match faculty expertise.
Resume/Curriculum Vitae which reflects prior education, recent clinical accomplishments, any scholarly work (publications and presentations), and activities with professional organizations. For recent graduates, this can include accomplishments as a student.
Three letters of recommendation evaluating the potential for doctoral study preferably by nursing instructors, nurse employers or nurses with advanced degrees.
Minimum UCF Requirement for TOEFL/IELTS

IELTS band score of 6.5
