The Mathematics M.A. program aims to equip students with in-depth foundational expertise in algebra, analysis, and geometry, preparing them for elite Ph.D. programs, industrial careers, or community college teaching positions. Graduates will develop strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to articulate solutions and mathematical ideas with precision using formal terminology.
The master's degree is designed to be completed within a two-year timeframe. Those enrolled in the M.A. program can request transfer to the Ph.D. track through the Mathematics Department after successfully passing the necessary Ph.D.-level qualifying exams.
Student must have a four-year bachelor's degree at an English-speaking institution.
English Language Testing
For those choosing to take the TOEFL, a minimum score on the paper-based TOEFL of 550, or 220 on the computer-based test, or 83 on the internet-based test is required for admission.
For those choosing to take the IELTS, a minimum overall score of 7 from the IELTS test is required for admission.
