The Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) program in composition fosters diverse creative approaches in music creation. This DMA curriculum cultivates skilled, engaged composers with comprehensive knowledge of contemporary techniques, cultural influences, and technological possibilities. Participants engage in various composition seminars, exploring cross-cultural perspectives (including indigenous, Asian, and African-diasporic traditions) alongside digital composition methods like algorithmic processes, constraint-based generation, sound synthesis, multimedia work, and live audio manipulation.
DMA Program Learning Outcomes:
Graduates will achieve:

Student must have a four-year bachelor's degree at an English-speaking institution.
English Language Testing
For those choosing to take the TOEFL, a minimum score on the paper-based TOEFL of 550, or 220 on the computer-based test, or 83 on the internet-based test is required for admission.
For those choosing to take the IELTS, a minimum overall score of 7 from the IELTS test is required for admission.
