The Creative Technologies (CT) program is an innovative cross-disciplinary undergraduate offering within the Arts Division, bringing together faculty expertise from Art, Music, and Performance, Play, and Design (PPD).

Creative Technologies students pursue a degree focused on cutting-edge digital arts and design, mastering diverse creative practices in digital spaces. Our program fosters a dynamic intersection of justice, community engagement, creative expression, humor, social change, and celebration. Through hybrid online/in-person learning, UCSC Arts students can break through traditional departmental boundaries, extend beyond campus walls, and connect with distant communities across geographic and economic divides.

Launching in fall 2024, Creative Technologies makes history as the University of California system's first fully online undergraduate degree program.

Achieving proficiency in modern media, arts, and design technologies and their associated languages
Acquiring artistic and design competencies while understanding their ethical application within cultural, social, historical, and political frameworks
