The IGPMS offers comprehensive interdisciplinary education for both Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees. Marine science integrates multiple fields such as biology, geology, chemistry, physics, and engineering. Our program acknowledges the inherently interdisciplinary approach required in contemporary marine science, facilitating cross-disciplinary graduate education by uniting marine faculty from eight distinct departments. Students can develop specialized expertise in areas including biological, chemical, and physical oceanography; marine optics and remote sensing; marine geology and geophysics; marine biology; paleoceanography; ocean engineering; and marine policy within the IGPMS framework.
