The Interdepartmental Graduate Program in Biomolecular Science and Engineering (BMSE) aims to deliver doctoral education bridging biological and physical sciences. This aligns with the growing demand for scientists skilled in interdisciplinary collaboration to address significant challenges across public and private sectors. The program features a cross-disciplinary Ph.D. specialization in Bioengineering and Biomaterials, allowing students to focus on either Biochemistry & Molecular Biology or Biophysics & Bioengineering. With biotechnology and biomaterials increasingly blending life sciences and engineering, the curriculum now seamlessly integrates these fields. The program eliminates traditional boundaries between life sciences, chemistry, physics, and engineering, fostering interdisciplinary approaches in education and research.
To be competitive, Ph.D. applicants must demonstrate excellence in undergraduate/graduate preparatory coursework and/or research.
