Florida Tech's doctoral program in cell and molecular biology equips students with the expertise to design and execute sophisticated research in this expansive scientific field. Though the program primarily focuses on conducting advanced research within a faculty advisor's specialization, students also complete foundational courses in molecular genetics and cellular biology, along with electives in specialized areas such as cancer biology, bioinformatics, protein studies, cellular signaling, and heart physiology.
Typically completed in 5.5 years, the Ph.D. program requires 73 credits for students entering with a bachelor's degree or 42 credits for those with a master's. Admission prerequisites include maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA and having undergraduate background in genetics, biochemistry, and cellular biology.
