Florida Tech's doctoral program in cell and molecular biology equips students with the expertise to design and execute sophisticated research in this expansive scientific field. Though the program primarily focuses on conducting advanced research within a faculty advisor's specialization, students also complete foundational courses in molecular genetics and cellular biology, along with electives in specialized areas such as cancer biology, bioinformatics, protein studies, cellular signaling, and heart physiology.

All prospective students must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in all undergraduate coursework. An applicant with a graduate degree must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 for all graduate coursework. Applicants whose native language is not English must score at least 550 on the TOEFL and 230 on the TSE exam.

Applicants must have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.2 in prior graduate coursework in order to be considered for admission to a Florida Tech doctoral degree program.
