Students pursuing a BS in Computer Science through the College of Engineering can enhance their academic profile by completing a minor or second major, demonstrating diverse academic interests. Those enrolled in the Computer Science BS program may request to pursue a dual major from either Letters and Science or the College of Creative Studies. However, combining two College of Engineering majors is not permitted. Freshman entrants must finish their degree requirements within 15 standard quarters, while junior transfer students must complete both their Computer Science degree and additional major within 9 regular quarters, with no exceptions granted.
The accelerated BS/MS Program in Computer Science allows high-achieving undergraduates in Computer Science, Computer Engineering (CE), or CCS Computing to obtain both degrees in approximately five years. Prospective candidates should express their interest to the department during their third year (usually junior year) and submit their application in the Spring quarter of that academic year.
You are considered a freshman applicant if you have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university.
