Pursuing a B.M. in Music Performance with a focus on one of 14 instruments or voice, you'll receive personalized one-on-one instruction from our exceptional faculty—accomplished soloists, opera performers, orchestral musicians, and world-class educators. You'll gain performance experience through class recitals, chamber music groups, and large ensembles including chamber choir, orchestra, wind ensemble, brass choir, contemporary music groups, and our yearly opera production. Your coursework in music history, theory, and analysis will be taught by distinguished professors who direct doctoral programs. Our comprehensive music library offers extensive resources with scores, literature, and recordings. During your upperclass years, you'll present public recitals in our premier concert venues, preparing you for solo performance careers, pedagogy, and advanced studies. The program frequently hosts masterclasses with internationally touring artists visiting Santa Barbara, along with renowned composers.
