The Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy and Legal History merges comparative historical analysis with interdisciplinary education. Throughout this program, you'll develop skills to critically assess historical legal and policy issues while gaining insights into contemporary challenges. The curriculum includes in-depth history courses along with electives from complementary fields, while building expertise in historical research techniques using both primary and secondary materials. You'll have opportunities to develop foreign language proficiency and learn quantitative, digital, or qualitative research methods tailored to your academic focus. Your studies will culminate in either a term-long research seminar or a two-quarter senior thesis involving original historical investigation. Beyond coursework, you can enhance your learning through policy and law internships via UC's Washington/Sacramento programs or self-arranged placements.
You are considered a freshman applicant if you have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university.
