The Master of Advanced Studies in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (MAS MBC Program) is based at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego. With views of the Ellen Browning Memorial Scripps Pier, the Pacific Ocean, and several marine protected areas, our program offers an exceptional setting to motivate and teach students. This distinctive one-year MAS MBC Program kicks off with an intensive 10-week summer session, where over 40 leading ocean specialists deliver lectures on diverse marine conservation and biodiversity subjects. Practical lab sessions and field excursions enhance classroom learning, providing students with real-world research and data-gathering opportunities. The world's oceans drive economic activity, sustain coastal populations, and serve as critical ecosystems for countless marine organisms. The intricate oceanographic, biological, and ecological systems beneath the waves form life's foundation, maintaining elaborate food chains that permeate all levels of nature.
