The mathematics department provides an extensive selection of courses in both theoretical and practical mathematics for its majors as well as students from other fields. Six BS degree options are available: mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics-computer science, a combined mathematics and economics major, mathematics-applied science with probability and statistics, along with one BA program in mathematics-secondary education. Students may also pursue minors in mathematics or mathematics education. An Honors Program is available for outstanding students across all eight major options. Detailed information about program prerequisites and departmental course offerings can be found in the major programs section, related subject areas, and course descriptions later in this section.
