The Theatre and Dance Department's curriculum is founded on the principle that a comprehensive undergraduate education in these fields should offer students thorough training in dramatic literature, performance aesthetics, theatre history, and the various artistic elements of theatrical production - including acting, writing, stage design, and dance composition. Faculty advisors are available to assist undergraduates with inquiries about course specifics, transfer credits, honors research, academic achievement, production involvement, audition processes, career prospects after graduation, and updates to department policies. The combined theatre and dance major equips students with a robust foundation in both disciplines academically and artistically. This dual program enhances students' capabilities, producing more skilled directors (through choreographic training), more versatile choreographers (through directing experience), more expressive actors (through dance conditioning), and more nuanced dancers (through textual and character analysis).
