Humanity currently confronts one of its most pressing issues: climate change. We've reached a critical juncture requiring immediate action. This phenomenon operates on both worldwide and regional scales—triggering devastating wildfires in California, generating intense heatwaves and erratic weather globally, accelerating glacier melt in the Himalayas and Andes, raising sea levels to threaten coastal areas and island nations, straining communities, creating food and water shortages, jeopardizing public health, and disproportionately affecting children, elders, and disadvantaged populations. Urban centers are working to adjust and fortify their defenses. People everywhere seek actionable steps they can take. Global societies must discover inclusive climate remedies that consider all populations. We're excited to introduce a groundbreaking degree program focused on climate solutions, equipping students with the expertise to address these environmental crises. This interdisciplinary program merges anthropology's distinctive capacity for community collaboration with practical training in design and technology, offering tangible skills while connecting local and international aspects of the challenge.
