The Plant Biology Graduate Program provides two Master of Science options tailored to students' academic goals and research objectives. Plan I MS involves completing a thesis with original research and defending it, while Plan II MSc entails submitting a comprehensive report and passing the Comprehensive Exams. For full details on these programs and their criteria, consult the Plant Biology Graduate Student Handbook.
All Plant Biology MS candidates are strongly advised to take BPSC 200A-B (the Plant Biology Core courses covering academic and career development subjects). Additionally, MS students must complete two BPSC 240 seminars (2-unit intensive studies on Plant Biology topics aligned with their specialization) and attend BPSC 250 seminars every quarter (featuring presentations by students and guest speakers).
