Gain foundational knowledge in three out of four anthropology subfields (archaeological, biological, linguistic, and sociocultural)
Maintain a B grade or higher in all courses (including methodology coursework)
Develop reading proficiency in a non-English language
Deliver a presentation at an academic conference
Successfully complete written and oral exams in your chosen specialization
Submit an approved dissertation research proposal
Conduct original research and produce, present, and defend a doctoral dissertation (Your proposal should outline the research problem, theoretical framework, data collection methods, analysis techniques, and anticipated findings)
Choose three specialization areas related to your dissertation topic (these will serve as the focus for your written and oral examinations)
Fulfill all degree requirements (excluding research and dissertation) by your third year's conclusion
