Environmental Sciences integrates diverse academic fields to study the natural world and its systems. This interdisciplinary area examines the connections between physical, chemical, and biological processes, along with human societal structures. The Environmental Sciences curriculum equips students for professional roles across various sectors or advanced education in science, policy, health, or management fields related to the environment.
The Environmental Sciences Department provides both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree options. Majors must fulfill foundational coursework, 8 units of introductory electives, and 20 units of advanced electives. The program recommends focusing studies within one of five concentration tracks: Soil Science, Water Sciences, Atmospheric Studies, Environmental Health Sciences, or Sustainability Management.
