The UC Riverside biochemistry bachelor's program offers three specialization tracks—biology, chemistry, and medical sciences—tailored to students' professional or academic objectives. Students can pursue either a B.A. or B.S. degree in this field. Financial support is robust, with 85% of undergraduates receiving financial assistance and 70% obtaining full tuition coverage through grants and scholarships. Numerous undergraduates also engage in diverse campus research initiatives. Departmental research encompasses molecular biology, physical biochemistry, molecular endocrinology, plant biochemistry & molecular biology, signal transduction, and biomedical studies. Beyond collaborative research with faculty, the new School of Medicine creates expanded avenues for students to enhance their laboratory and research expertise during their undergraduate studies. Graduates will establish a strong foundation for advancing to health science professional programs, scientific graduate studies, or other science-related careers.
