The Graduate Playwriting Program enhances traditional playwriting workshops by incorporating studies in screenwriting, virtual/augmented reality, adaptation, and more. Our renowned faculty focus on African-American theater, Latinx cultural exploration through bilingual productions, and groundbreaking intersections of metatheatrical techniques and transgender narratives. Over three years of intensive study, students graduate with a diverse collection of plays and collaborative projects that prepare them to transform contemporary theater.
Aspiring playwrights experiment with various media formats, learn from established professionals, and refine their craft within a talented, intimate community. These writers transform personal narratives into powerful performances, examining human connections through diverse theatrical expressions.
