The Social Sciences and Comparative Education (SSCE) Division focuses on examining education through social, cultural, historical, and international perspectives. Our interdisciplinary M.A. and Ph.D. programs prepare graduates to teach and research topics like philosophy, culture, race, gender, ethnicity, and comparative education. Students become qualified to serve as experts for domestic and international programs, NGOs, and technical assistance organizations, while developing skills to critically analyze educational systems both in the U.S. and globally.
