Starting in their second or third year, students alternate between studying contemporary plays as literary works and participating in four playwriting workshops (requiring writing samples and instructor approval) that explore various performance writing styles.Directing pathway details: Students interested in directing begin with Theater 15 and 160. From their sophomore or junior year, they can progress through three advanced directing courses (requiring interviews and instructor consent) that cover multiple directing styles and methodologies.

Qualification Requirements

As an undergraduate you may apply for admission as a freshman first year or a transfer student. Youre a freshman applicant if you completed secondary school and have not enrolled in a regular session at any college or university UCLA does not admit students into any undergraduate program who already hold Bachelors degrees nor do we admit students who have the equivalent of three years 130 quarter-units or more of transferable university work You may not disregard your college record and apply as a freshman. 3.4 GPA - Non-residents must earn a minimum 3.4 GPA in all A-G or college-preparatory courses to meet this requirement. International Baccalaureate IB Students enrolled in IB schools are expected to earn scores of 5 or higher on IB exams and most admitted students score 38 plus or 42 points on the IB Diploma. Transcripts and Official Records - They require records from the secondary schools you have attended that show subjects taken and grades received as well as any national or government certificates earned.
