The Bachelor of Arts in Ethnomusicology delves into global musical diversity, blending practical musical training with scholarly research. Learners can enroll in classes examining music from nearly every corner of the planet, including various U.S. ethnic communities, alongside studies of pop and cinematic scores. These classes approach music both as an artistic medium and through its connections to cultural, social, political, and economic contexts. Students also benefit from the department's unique collection of international instruments and skilled instructors to master performance techniques from worldwide traditions.
