The 3+2 Ethnomusicology Program is a unique partnership between the University of Rochester's River Campus Music Department and Eastman School of Music's Musicology Department. This accelerated pathway enables undergraduate music majors to earn a Master's degree in ethnomusicology more quickly while lowering graduate education costs for eligible candidates. BA prerequisites: Fulfill all core requirements in music theory, history, musicianship, keyboard proficiency, and performance (including private lessons and ensemble participation) for any BA music concentration, with mandatory completion of a World Music course (MUR 121 or MHS 281/282). Applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA in required coursework and complete an Eastman School audition/interview for MA program admission.
