The Educational Policy and Social Context division focuses on analyzing and creating policies and practices that enhance learning and support the developmental needs of children, adolescents, and adults. This encompasses educational environments, family structures, and community settings. By integrating insights from economics, sociology, developmental psychology, and anthropology, EPSC researchers employ quantitative, qualitative, and blended methodologies to assess current policies, develop and test innovative interventions, and examine the connection between policy formation and execution. Dedicated to advancing opportunities for underserved groups, faculty collaborate with various communities to identify effective local, state, and national strategies for fostering social equity.
