The Chemistry Department provides both Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree programs. The Ph.D. is awarded to candidates who demonstrate comprehensive understanding of contemporary chemistry principles and theories, along with the capability to conduct autonomous research, evidenced by an approved doctoral dissertation. For the M.S., students can choose between two paths: completing a satisfactory Master's thesis (Plan I) or fulfilling a designated graduate coursework requirement followed by a comprehensive oral exam (Plan II). Notably, possessing a Master's degree is not mandatory for entry into the Ph.D. program.
