The Mathematics Department provides a Bachelor of Science degree program. This program features six distinct pathways: a standard track along with five focused specializations (Mathematical Biology, Mathematical Finance, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Mathematics for Education, and Mathematics for Education with Secondary Teaching Certification). Additionally, students can pursue minors in Mathematics or Mathematics for Biology. The undergraduate mathematics curriculum includes various course types: foundational courses for advanced mathematics, exact sciences, and engineering; classes tailored for social and biological science majors; and offerings for liberal arts students and future educators.
The Applied and Computational Mathematics specialization caters to students passionate about mathematics and its practical applications in scientific and engineering fields. Through strategic elective selection, graduates of this track will gain qualifications for careers in computing or engineering sectors. This pathway also provides strong preparation for pursuing Master's degrees in related fields or advanced studies in Applied Mathematics.
