At Rensselaer, we strive to deliver comprehensive mathematics education, both as a standalone discipline and as a tool for advancing other scientific and social fields. Our Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program includes four tailored capstones, enabling students to customize their studies based on personal interests and career goals. These updated capstone requirements, introduced in Fall 2016, offer greater curriculum flexibility. (Students who enrolled before Fall 2016 may continue with their original program requirements or transition to the new structure.) The program develops proficiency in fundamental mathematical principles and modeling techniques, cultivates skills in constructing mathematical proofs and understanding rigorous analytical frameworks, enhances problem-solving abilities using linear algebra concepts, and fosters the capacity to master advanced mathematical theories and their real-world applications.
