The Computer Science and Engineering undergraduate program is jointly overseen by faculty from two departments: the Computer Science (CS) Department within the Donald Bren School of Information and Computer Sciences, and the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) Department in The Henry Samueli School of Engineering. Graduates earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Engineering upon completing the program.

This curriculum equips students with core knowledge in both hardware and software aspects of computer science, along with engineering principles applied to computer systems and software design. It offers opportunities to tackle complex engineering challenges with an emphasis on comprehensive systems engineering. The program covers essential computer science foundations for developing software, hardware, and computer networks, while incorporating engineering approaches to circuit design, network architecture, and digital signal processing. Practical engineering components address system perspectives, production considerations, economic factors, and cross-disciplinary engineering implementations.
