Computer science and engineering provides the solution. As global interconnectedness brings people worldwide closer together, digital networks and systems play a growing role in handling and distributing the vast quantities of data that enable seamless communication. Professionals in this field create, manage, and enhance these crucial information systems along with core hardware principles. Your initial two years will focus on intensive foundational studies in mathematics, natural sciences, and key engineering principles. Advanced coursework then explores both hardware and software domains, covering subjects like network systems, computer architecture, AI development, and operating system engineering. The program emphasizes collaborative problem-solving across disciplines and fosters innovative approaches to technical challenges.
This degree equips graduates for careers or advanced studies in hardware development, software engineering, theoretical research, or electronics. Compared to the standard Computer Science program, the engineering track offers deeper hardware immersion and a more structured curriculum. Students gain comprehensive machine-level expertise through hands-on hardware experience, while the Computer Science program focuses more on digital design via simulation tools. The engineering path has fewer elective options, whereas the Computer Science major's flexible electives better support pursuing additional minors or dual degrees.
Freshman applicant will be completing or have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university.
