The Psychology Science program equips students with fundamental knowledge for advanced studies in psychology or careers in diverse sectors including public health, healthcare, human resources, marketing, social services, counseling, legal professions, education, and similar domains. This curriculum emphasizes understanding human health, wellness, and behavior across various developmental stages, social environments, cultural backgrounds, and ecological settings. Students initially explore core subjects like developmental psychology, health and abnormal psychology, and social psychology. Advanced coursework delves into areas such as childhood, adolescent, and adult cognitive and emotional growth, behavioral abnormalities and developmental disorders, therapeutic approaches, cultural and social impacts on conduct, belief systems and their transformation, health-related psychology, stress management, and legal psychology. Students can collaborate with professors on research projects across these disciplines, gaining practical experience that strengthens graduate school applications.

Practical training placements are offered in multiple settings including medical facilities, mental health clinics, counseling offices, judicial environments, ecological initiatives, social welfare organizations, educational institutions, youth programs, early childhood centers, and various community service providers.

Qualification Requirements

Student must have completed secondary school with excellent grades/marks in academic subjects and have earned a certificate of completion that enables you to be admitted to a university in your home country and is equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma. If your secondary/high school was completed in a country where English was not the language of instruction, or if you have less than three years of high school curriculum instruction in English in the U.S., you are required to demonstrate English proficiency.

Various examinations and scores may be used to demonstrate proficiency in English: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination: Internet-based test (IBT): score 80 or higher; Score 6.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS); Freshman applicants may complete one UC approved English composition course.
