The Graduate Group in Computer Science provides M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in Computer Science, featuring a faculty with diverse specializations that enrich the curriculum. Cross-disciplinary computer science research is actively promoted.
The M.S. in Computer Science equips students with research capabilities and critical problem-solving skills to address global technological challenges. The program offers two degree paths with distinct culminating requirements: Plan I involves a thesis, while Plan II allows either a project or comprehensive exam. Students should collaborate with faculty to determine the optimal path for their objectives. The curriculum covers advanced topics in algorithms, computational biology, computer architecture, graphics, system design, databases, security, networks, program verification, programming languages, parallel systems, operating systems, performance analysis, scientific computing, and software engineering. Graduates emerge with the analytical and technical expertise needed for academic and professional careers in computer science.
Admission requires a bachelor’s degree, three letters of recommendation, and a complete application form, including official transcripts, GRE scores, TOEFL scores or IELTS score (if applicable), a statement of purpose, and a personal history statement.
