The Integrative Pathobiology Graduate Program provides Master's and Doctoral degrees focused on investigating disease mechanisms. This program explores the origins and characteristics of diseases in both animals and humans, concentrating on pathological developments at systemic, cellular, and subcellular levels. Faculty members apply multidisciplinary scientific approaches to support students with varied research interests through personalized academic plans. While foundational coursework includes subjects like anatomy, bacteriology, genetics, and virology, the curriculum maintains adaptable structure.
As UC Davis's premier graduate program for disease mechanism research, the Graduate Group in Integrative Pathobiology (GGIP) draws faculty expertise from multiple schools including Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, and Biological Sciences. This interdisciplinary collaboration provides students access to extensive resources within UC Davis's biomedical research network. GGIP caters to scholars investigating disease pathogenesis across scales - from global health impacts to molecular-level abnormalities.
