The Geography Graduate Program offers a solid foundation in geographic principles, theories, methodologies, and traditions, with advanced coursework options across four primary focus areas: environmental sciences, analytical techniques, modeling and GIS, nature-society relations, and cultural-regional studies. The curriculum highlights spatial relationships between human activities and natural systems, covering topics like landscape transformation, sustainable resource use, global environmental diversity, plant/animal domestication patterns, biogeography and climatic shifts, cultural adaptation of native and migrant populations, traditional farming systems, gender roles in development, and health-nutrition geography. Master's candidates gain expertise in both thematic and regional concentrations along with GIS proficiency, while doctoral students hone advanced capabilities in data collection, interpretation, and knowledge integration.
